AFE AL MANAGEMENT COURSES
"NeckSafe" Spinal Management Courses are designed around the practical experiences of hands-on doctors, paramedics and lifeguards, the Necksafe course itself is a Risk Minimisation strategy in action, combining sound theory with relevant practical demonstrations and active learning principles.
The Necksafe Spinal Courses cover:
| Basic Anatomy and Physiology of the Spinal Cord and Nerves | |
| Assessment of the Spinal Injury | |
| Immediate Treatment | |
| Treatment in the Aquatic environment (still water and surf) | |
| Spinal Equipment: Cervical Collars, Stretchers, Vacuum Mattresses and Jordan Frame | |
| The Controversies |
The courses are taught by Dr. Cohen with the assistance of practising experts who understand the practicalities of acute care at the accident scene.
Being prepared also means being protected; all participants completing the course will be presented with a Certificate of Spinal Injury Competency, and the programme is currently before the Vocational Education Training Advisory Board (VETAB) for national certification. Once VETAB accreditation is received, Certificates will be appropriately endorsed.
Courses can be hosted at a location suitable for your staff, and run over two 3 hour sessions: morning (Theory) and afternoon (Practical).
Costs are $175 per student (minimum 10), which includes all course material and practical equipment.
