Other information concerning the effectiveness of the grapefruit diet states that patient lost over 10 pounds. The study also found that the grapefruit diet reduces insulin level and therefore can aid in the affects of blood sugar regulation. It has also been pointed out that foods with low glycemic index can help speed up the body’s metabolism. While some benefits have been found concerning the grapefruit diet, it is very important not to stay on this diet for a very long time because of the lack of vitamins and minerals in the grapefruit diet.
