Prescribers and manufacturers of medications in Australia are required to report adverse drug reactions to the Adverse Drug Reaction Committee (ADRAC)of the Therapeutic Goods Administration.
If the frequency and severity of adverse reactions warrant, restrictions may be placed on the drug, it's prescribing, labelling distributionand/or sale. In notable cases, a drug can be ordered to be removed from the market. If you suffer any adverse reaction to a medication whether newly prescribed or over a period of time, it is vital to report this to your family doctor.
