Colored Contact Lenses

If you need glasses or contact lenses, odds are you've already received your prescription, picked out your frames or lenses, and have been using them for a long time. You may not know that now you can purchase colored contact lenses to give your eyes a whole new look. In fact, there are four different kinds of colored contact lenses available on the market today. Visibility tint lenses add a soft hue of green or blue to the contact lens. This kind of colored contact lens is actually meant to help you see your lens on the floor if you happen to drop it, or if it falls down into the bathroom sink. Visibility tinted lenses do not add any kind of color enhancement to the eye. An enhancement tint contact lens also has a blue or greenish tint, but these kinds of lenses offer a darker color than the visibility tint kind. In fact, enhancement tint contact lenses do add some color changes to the eye. Basically contact lenses with an enhancement tint are meant to do just that-enhance the already natural color of your eyes by adding a little bit darker tone to them. This kind of colored contact lenses is usually bought by people who have naturally light colored eyes, and just want to bring out their natural eye color a little bit more. For those who want dramatic change with their contact lenses, color tints are just the thing. These kind of colored contact lenses can actually change a person's eye color all the way.

Color tints are completely opaque and are made of a wide variety of different colors. The person buying them can choose from such rich colors as green, blue, hazel, and even violet! Gray is also an option that has been created by some manufacturers. Color tins are usually purchased by people who want to dramatically change their eye color altogether. There are also special costume color contact lenses that can be purchased. These special lenses give the eyes a mystical look, and sometimes come in odd colors like completely black or white, or even cats eyes style. For both types of color tints, the color is only on the pupil of the eye where it is naturally colored, except in special theatrical cases where the wearer can choose to get contact lenses that will cover up the entire eye. Another new, rarer kind of colored contact lens is called the light-filtering tinted lens. These lenses are specially designed for people who participate in sports, because the lens allows the player to focus more clearly on the ball (such as golf balls or tennis balls). The way they work is that the lens enhances the color of certain balls, so that the person can focus more easily and clearly on it. Currently other versions are being created for sharp shooters, skiers, and other sports fans who want to be on top of their game. Colored contact lenses are a great way to get the benefits of improved vision, along with a new eye color.
